TEN² stands for “Technology Empowering Nonprofits Together”. This is a shared cloud technology that is an affordable solution for Nonprofits of any size. It can eliminate the need for onsite servers and allows them to use old PCs as terminals. This concept was developed by Catholic Charities and InCompass IT, Inc. as a way to assist struggling Nonprofits on a National basis. Both parties have donated time and resources to build this infrastructure and provide reusable processes and procedures.’
Wristband Project
This project spun off from TEN2, taking it a step further. We were able to find a rubberized wristband that contained a USB drive so that a person could take with them the info they need to find employment and break the cycle of homelessness. This technology exists today and Catholic Charities already supplies hundreds of USB wristbands every year to those who need them. But we’re not stopping there! The vision for this project is for the wristband to also contain basic personal information and contact information so that if a person who is homeless experiences an emergency, the first responders can use the information from the USB wristband to call our 24×7 service desk and identify the person names, next of kin, other contacts, pertinent medical issues, etc.
Issues
- Non-profits face the same IT expenditures that for profit companies do – but with less resources
- Most cannot afford to have a full service IT company aid them in security, backups, redundancy
- Because of these issues, they are not able to completely focus on their mission

- Allows an organization to access enterprise level systems and support 24×7 while substantially reducing their IT expenditures
- Gives non-profits the security, redundancy and disaster recovery services that they normally could never afford
- Enables a non-profit to concentrate on their mission across their community and less on the infrastructure to run it
